Overview

The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) is conducting a closed, targeted grants round to select service providers to establish and deliver pilot specialist domestic violence units in priority locations. This round is not open for unsolicited applications. AGD will directly approach specific service providers identified as potentially suitable to deliver pilot services in locations of need identified by AGD, to discuss their eligibility for a grant and invite them to submit a proposal on the attached template. This grants round falls within the innovative service delivery category under the Community Legal Services Program Guidelines. Successful proposals will need to demonstrate how they will deliver wrap-around legal and non-legal services in a priority location within a fixed budget. Funding available will be approximately $175 000 per unit in 2017-18 for establishment and up to six months of operating costs, and approximately $350 000 per unit in 2018-19 for 12 month operating costs. Limited additional funding may be available to cover increased costs associated with delivering a service in a particular location where a grantee can demonstrate need for additional funds. The attached ‘Description of grant activity’ document provides a detailed explanation of the service grantees will be required to deliver and the requirements that will apply to the grant.
