Overview

The Australian Government is inviting one organisation via a closed non-competitive process to apply to deliver services under the Justice Services Program – Legal support services for survivors engaging with the Commonwealth Redress Scheme for Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. The Australian Government is providing up to $36.633 million over 5 years for this grant opportunity. The purpose of the program is to provide a free legal advice service to assist survivors of institutional child sexual abuse to access redress under the National Redress Scheme. The expected outcomes of the grant activity are the provision of a free national legal advisory service to assist survivors through the process of accessing redress. The service will be a quality, trauma-informed legal advice service that provides survivors with advice on their legal options. It will ensure survivors are provided with access to free, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate and expert legal advice at the 4 key stages of the redress application process. It will also provide survivors with information and advice about other options available to them, including compensation through other schemes or common law rights and claims.
