Overview

The Phase out of Live Sheep Exports by Sea - transition support: Market Development Grant (MDG) will provide a one-off grant of up to $3.0 million excl. GST from 2024-25 to 2026-27. The objectives of the grant are to: Enhance demand for Australian sheep products and to explore opportunities to support the maintenance and development of those markets Explore market opportunities for sheep products with an Australian (interstate) and/or export market focus. The MDG will be provided to Meat & Livestock Australia Limited (MLA) for it to: develop its Aussie Meat Academy program to boost demand for Australian sheep meat products broaden its Lambassador program engage technical specialists to design and deliver an education program develop digital education and knowledge assets.
