High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza H5N1 – Captive Protected Species Preparedness program
Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
Overview
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to contribute to minimisation of any increased risk of extinction for at-risk Australian species as a result of high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1. It contributes to the Government’s targeted investments to prepare and protect Australian biodiversity against the potential arrival of HPAI H5N1, specifically through the Supporting Australia’s Avian Influenza Preparedness and Response package (October 2024). This grant opportunity will fund one eligible applicant to identify, manage and deliver funding to relevant organisations to prepare and protect Australian biodiversity against the potential arrival of HPAI H5N1.
