Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional Organisations

Overview

The Australian Government wishes to provide funding of up to $33.4 million over four years to four Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professional organisations (ATSIHPOs) to invest in making health systems accessible, culturally safe and appropriate, effective and responsive for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013-2023). This contributes to the achievement of Program 2.2, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Department of Health (the department) 2018-19 Portfolio Budget Statements. Through this grant opportunity, ATSIHPOs can be supported to undertake activities within their areas of expertise that increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the health workforce, and develop the cultural capability of the broader health workforce.
