Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional Organisations 2022-23
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The purpose of the grant opportunity is to build the capacity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional Organisations (ATSIHPOs) as strong independent organisations that can provide leadership and expertise in the provision of quality, accessible, effective, responsive and culturally appropriate health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. ATSIHPOs will be supported to undertake activities within their areas of expertise that increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the health workforce and develop the cultural capability of the broader health workforce. ATSIHPOs will also be supported to assist the Australian Government to deliver on its commitments to closing the gap in health outcomes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, including the priorities listed in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce Strategic Framework and Implementation Plan 2021–2031.
