Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support activities that will contribute to preparing the health system to respond to the growing number of Australians with dementia, and for developments in biomarker testing and disease-modifying therapies. The program leverages work commenced by the Australian Dementia Network (ADNeT) and builds on activities that enhance capacity and capability of health professionals for the assessment of cognitive concerns, and the diagnosis and post-diagnostic support for people with dementia and mild cognitive impairment.   The program enables continuity and further development of several activities previously initiated by ADNeT. Services provided under this program will be aligned to local need, delivered in conjunction with local services, and where appropriate with primary care. This grant program will also inform future dementia policy by improving available dementia data, with a pilot data linkage activity with the ADNeT Registry, and facilitating a dementia research forum for dementia researchers, health professionals and policy makers to share the latest dementia research and innovations.
