Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program: Extension of psychosocial support funding
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to ensure service continuity of psychosocial support services to assist people with severe mental illness, who have an associated reduction in psychosocial functional capacity and are not receiving similar supports through state or territory programs, or through the NDIS. The CPS Program has been in place since 1 July 2021, and this grant opportunity will run over two years from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025. CPS Program activities will continue to be delivered by PHNs. PHNs will provide: • a regional approach to targeting psychosocial support services to individual needs, promoting flexible, efficient service delivery. Services may include individual and group support, and peer support; and • improved service coordination for individuals with severe mental illness and associated psychosocial functional impairment, while taking into account supports available across all levels of governments, the community and relevant sectors.
