Overview

The Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors Network plays an important role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors working in and with all Regional Training Organisations (RTOs). Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors are the cultural foundation of registrar training in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and provide the connection to culture, and physical, social and emotional wellbeing through lived experience. The Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors Network is convened through the hosting of biannual two-day workshops where members come together from across Australia to share valuable insights and experiences and receive professional education and support. It also provides support for meetings of the Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors Network Governance Group. The aim this grant opportunity is to support the coordination and administration of the Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors Network across Australia from July 2019 until December 2021. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to provide a national forum to build capacity and acknowledge the cultural and professional needs of Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors and enable networking opportunities for all Cultural Educators and Cultural Mentors.
