Overview

The purpose of the grant opportunity is to support the activities of the Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) Fund grant activity. The DACS Fund is a component of the Ageing and Service Improvement Program under the department’s Outcome 3 – Ageing and Aged Care through Program 3.3 – Aged Care Quality. The DACS Fund is designed to support activities that respond to existing and emerging aged care challenges including dementia care, support services targeting people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and special measures for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.  The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety (Royal Commission) identified the need for specific advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander older people and providers. The DACS Fund First Nations Aged Care Peak Bodies ad hoc grant seeks to support responds to urgent need for additional funding to address workforce shortages. The Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) Fund aligns with the new National Agreement and recognises self-determination, partnership and shared decision making as the best way to close the gap in health outcomes for First Nations people.  To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
