Dementia Friendly Communities Extension
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Dementia and Aged Care Services (DACS) Fund is designed to better support activities that respond to existing and emerging challenges including dementia care, better support services targeting people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and support special measures for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The DACS Fund can also be used to support activities that assist the Commonwealth in informing itself about aged care. The objective of the grant opportunity is to continue to build greater awareness, acceptance and understanding of dementia in the community. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to: expand the Dementia Friends program; support community-led Dementia Friendly Communities initiatives; resource the Dementia Friendly Communities Hub; and partner with organisations responsible for places that people living with dementia frequent to enhance the impact that Dementia Friendly Communities can have for people living with dementia.
