Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support end stage kidney disease patients living in the Far West NSW region with access to preventative health and dialysis treatment without the need to travel significant distances, saving patients significant financial costs and time.    Consultation with local communities, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, renal experts, and potential delivery partners was undertaken to understand the needs of the region and the most effective delivery options to satisfy the intent of the 2022-23 Dialysis Treatment Buses in Far West NSW Budget Measure.   This grant opportunity will provide options to support the local delivery of fixed dialysis services and preventative health services for chronic kidney disease and related chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.   The grant opportunity will be offered under two streams:   The objectives of the Stream 1 are: • Increase access to culturally appropriate dialysis services for First Nations people with end stage kidney disease living in Far West NSW.    The objectives of the Stream 2 are: • Enable First Nations people living in Far West NSW to access ongoing education and support to prevent and / or manage chronic kidney disease.  To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
