Overview

These guidelines contain information about the AOD Peak Organisations grant opportunity.  AOD Peak Organisations provide a range of programs and services to build the capability and capacity of the AOD sector and contribute to policy development. This includes workforce development, data management, governance and support, research and evaluation, and sector representation and advocacy. Through their program/services, AOD Peak Organisations provide representation and support to the AOD treatment and harm reduction sector, to enable AOD providers to deliver high quality evidence-based AOD treatment services. Additionally, AOD Peak Organisations assist AOD treatment providers to improve the capacity of the AOD treatment sector to address the needs of individuals, families, carers and communities affected by AOD use. Funding to the National AOD Peak is not being provided through this grant opportunity as the Department is currently in the process of determining funding arrangements for national peak bodies, including the National AOD Peak.  This grant opportunity will provide three streams of grant funding including: 1. an additional year of project funding in 2022-23  2. funding under the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services Maintenance Measure in 2021-22 and 2022-23; and 3. re-commencement of indexation on project funding in 2021-22 and 2022-23. The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide sector leadership, capacity building and advocacy for AOD treatment service providers. This will be achieved through providing funding to Peak Organisations to:  - improve linkages, partnerships and coordination  - undertake quality improvement and planning process  - support data collection and information management  - improve workforce development and training  - enable information dissemination and communication  - provide strategic policy advice to AOD treatment service providers and  - provide sector advocacy and representation capabilities.
