Overview

This Grant Opportunity is to provide one-off emergency funding to ensure that aged care services are maintained to aged care recipients at the Thamarrurr Aged Care Service, Wadeye NT as it transitions from West Daly Regional Council to Thamarrurr Development Corporation Ltd. The intended outcome of the grant funding is to support the delivery of safe and quality aged care service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Thamarrurr Development Corporation (TDC) Limited assumed responsibility for the provision of aged care services at Wadeye and surrounding communities on 1 January 2020. TDC submitted an emergency funding application seeking urgent funding to support: the engagement of a transition team comprising both clinical and business advisors; and the provision and/or upgrading of equipment and infrastructure which is essential to the health, safety and well-being of care recipients and/or staff. Failure to address the equipment and infrastructure issues will result in serious risk to care recipients and staff. This grant opportunity is necessary to ensure the continuity of aged care services and to mitigate serious risk to care recipients.
