Every Doctor, Every Setting Framework

Overview

The aim of the grant opportunity is to implement a national Framework through a coordinated approach to support the mental health of doctors and medical students.  The implementation of the Framework will result in developing a healthy medical workforce to deliver safe and quality/effective patient care, with efficiency gains for the health system from increased productivity, recruitment and retention. This grant opportunity will provide funding to the Australian Medical Association (AMA) to implement the Framework and the development of the National Leadership Group (NLG). The grant opportunity will run over three years from 2021-22 to 2023-24. The objectives of the grant opportunity are to: • implement the Framework across the medical profession and medical workplaces to improve the health and wellbeing of doctors and medical students; • coordinate the development of a three-year action plan to implement the Framework; • establish and maintain the NLG; • appoint a Secretariat to support the NLG and the translation of the Framework into action; • provide communication and branding of the Framework; and • engage in ongoing stakeholder engagement.  The intended outcomes of the program are to: • improve the mental health and wellbeing of doctors and medical students in Australia through implementation of the Framework; • enhance stakeholders’ ability to implement the Framework; • clarify actions and responsibilities for implementation of the Framework through development of the action plan; • provide a forum to stakeholders for sharing information and collaboration; and • promote research into the health and wellbeing of doctors and medical students.
