Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to ensure essential aged care services continue to be delivered to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in and around Alice Springs in the Northern Territory (NT) by funding Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation (Purple House) to deliver aged care services to an estimated 200 older First Nations people requiring care whilst receiving dialysis treatment. This will address an urgent need for aged care services for vulnerable older First Nations people, as well as delivering culturally safe aged care services in response to a demonstrated supply gap in Alice Springs.  The objectives of the grant opportunity are to: • provide funding to Purple House to deliver culturally safe aged care services under the NATSIFAC Program to meet the needs of older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in and around Alice Springs. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to: • ensure Purple House can continue to deliver essential, culturally safe aged care services to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people without interruption; • to ensure continued access and delivery of high quality, culturally safe aged care to vulnerable older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in and around Alice Springs.
