Improving First Nations Cancer Outcomes
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Improving First Nations Cancer Outcomes grant opportunity was announced as part of the 2023-24 Federal Budget. The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) sector to respond to and improve cancer-related health outcomes, tailored to local need and priorities. This is consistent with Priority Reform Two of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap . Funding will support the implementation of the forthcoming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan with a focus on achieving equitable outcomes across cancer journeys at both the individual and community level. The program will also focus on reshaping the cancer narrative from fear and stigmatisation to empowerment.
