Overview

The Increasing stillbirth autopsies – supporting pathologists into perinatal pathology career pathways program will provide financial supports to pathologists to undertake professional development activities required for upskilling in perinatal pathology that incur costs, such as: assistance to attend perinatal conferences, assistance to purchase required educational and training materials and assistance to obtain necessary practical experience in perinatal autopsies and investigations. The program will also support the development of educational and communications materials to provide greater awareness of the pathways into a career in perinatal pathology. The purpose of this grant is funding the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia to support and encourage pathologists in Australia into perinatal pathology career pathways. Its aim is to increase the pathology workforce’s capacity to provide stillbirth autopsy services to bereaved parents who wish to access them.
