Junior Doctor Training - Private Hospital Stream
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Junior Doctor Training Program - Private Hospital Stream (PHS) funds training placements for new medical school graduates in their first 3 years of training prior to commencement of a college fellowship-training pathway (generally known as Postgraduate Years (PGY) 1-3). This includes the internship year (PGY 1), which is a requirement for new doctors to gain general medical registration in Australia. The purpose of this grant opportunity is to extend the existing grant arrangements with private hospitals administering the PHS in Modified Monash Model (MMM) 2-7 locations for a further 12-month period (2025 training year) to ensure continuity of medical training for PHS participating junior doctors.
