Overview

The Mental Health Consumer and Carer Advocacy Program grant will be for one year from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.    This grant opportunity aims to ensure Lived Experience Australia can continue to contribute to the mental health sector as a key systemic advocate and peak body for the private mental health sector in Australia. This grant opportunity will ensure private mental health consumers and carers are involved in policy development and the implementation of mental health reform initiatives.   The grant opportunity will fund training for consumers and carers with lived experience to improve their ability to contribute to Australian Government policy development and implementation, and as peer workers in mental health services. It will fund the maintenance of, including any further development to, a training package for consumers and carers with lived experience to increase their capacity to undertake advocacy roles.   This grant opportunity will also fund the maintenance of, including any further development to, training focused on clinical staff in private mental health services to enable them to better understand the role, issues and needs of people with lived experience and carers who are advocates within their organisation.   To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "GO Documents" button on the left hand side.
