Mental Health Sector Support and Promotion Program
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Mental Health Sector Support and Promotion Program (the program) will run over three years from 2022-23 to 2024-25. The purpose of the program is to build and maintain Mental Health Australia’s capacity in the mental health sector by improving linkages, networks and cooperation with their members, consumers and carers, the health sector, the wider community and the Australian Government. Leveraging this capacity, the program will increase community awareness and understanding of mental health issues and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness through the promotion of World Mental Health Day. The program will also ensure the mental health consumer and carer sector is involved in policy development and the implementation of mental health reform initiatives through funding to 30 June 2023 for Mental Health Australia to auspice its key consumer and carer entities.
