Overview

The purpose of the grant is to fund a National Nurse Clinical Placement program to provide student nurses with practical experience of primary health care nursing. To enable student nurses’ exposure to health environments outside the hospital setting, grow their skills, experience, and desire to consider a career in primary health care nursing. This will increase health promotion and prevention in the community, help address the increasingly complex health needs of the ageing Australian population and help meet the future demand for nurses to work in primary health multidisciplinary teams in the community.   The grant will provide funding up to $4,160,000 million (GST exclusive) over four years from 2023-24 to 2026-27, to deliver the National Nurse Clinical Placements Program and extend on the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association’s student nurse placement program, which began in 2020.   To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
