Overview

This grant opportunity is part of the Drug and Alcohol Program and aims to increase access to evidence-based drug and alcohol treatment services and reduce the impact of substance use on individuals, families and the community. In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government recognised that alcohol and illicit drug use is a major cause of preventable disease and illness in Australia and committed to funding several alcohol and drug prevention and treatment programs through the Extension of Alcohol and Other Drug Activities Budget Measure. Included in this measure was The Glen for Women, the only women and culturally specific drug and alcohol rehabilitation service of its type in New South Wales. The Glen for Women provides a holistic, abstinence-based program with group counselling sessions, purposeful life skills, sports, cooking, personal training, parenting programs, Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, community work and education, client focused counselling support services, including support with grief and trauma, relationships, gambling, and anger management. This grant opportunity will ensure continued access to this important alcohol and other drug treatment and support service.   To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
