Overview

This grant opportunity forms part of the Department of Health’s Outcome 1, Program 1.8: Health Protection, Emergency Response and Regulation. The objective of this program is protecting the health of the Australian community through national leadership and capacity building to detect, prevent and respond to threats to public health and safety, including those arising from communicable diseases and other incidents that may cause mass casualties. The National Response to BBV and STI grant opportunity will run over four (4) years from 2022-23 to 2025-26. This grant opportunity is designed to ensure continued support to key national BBV and STI peak bodies, to strengthen their evaluation capability and to improve the integration of activities through greater collaboration. The peak bodies are recognised by the Department of Health as critical partners in Australia’s response to BBV and STI, through their ability to reach populations with, or most at risk of, BBV and STI, including BBV and STI workforce.
