Overview

In the 2022-23 October Budget, the Australian Government committed to deliver on its election commitment to invest $3.75 million (over two years from 2022-23) to re open the Minor Accident and Illness Centre (the Centre) at Morayfield Health Hub.  The purpose of this grant opportunity is to commission the Brisbane North PHN – under the broader PHN Program – to administer and manage an arrangement with the Centre to facilitate the Centre’s re-opening and operation from early 2023 to 30 June 2024. The PHN will be required to enter into an arrangement with the Centre, make payments of Commonwealth monies to the Centre, support evaluation activities, monitor compliance and performance and remedy any issues arising with the Centre.  Re-opening the Centre contributes towards the objectives of the department’s Outcome 1 – Health Policy, Access and Support, Program 1.6: Primary Health Care Quality and Coordination.  Objectives of the grant are to commission the PHN to enable the Centre to:  • re-open in early 2023 and operate until mid-2024, in an integrated way with other local health services • provide short-term, episodic care for non-life-threatening urgent conditions requiring same day assessment or treatment – at no charge to patients • operate 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm • adhere to the relevant requirements of the Medicare UCCs. Intended outcomes of the grant are to: • improve access to short-term, episodic care for non-life-threatening urgent conditions requiring same day assessment or treatment • relieve pressures on local public hospitals by reducing non-life threatening, urgent and acute presentations to emergency departments.   To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left hand side.
