Renewing Australia's Commitment to Ending HIV Grant Program
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Renewing Australia's Commitment to Ending Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) grant program (the program) will run over 4 years from 2022-23 to 2025-26. The program was announced as a 2022 election commitment to accelerate the reduction of HIV transmission in Australia and make Australia one of the first countries in the world to achieve virtual elimination of HIV. There are two streams of funding under this opportunity. Stream 1 will fund Australia’s peak national HIV bodies, the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO) and the National Association of People with HIV Australia (NAPWHA) to contribute to the agenda by delivering core activities. Stream 2 will fund AFAO to develop models and standards for peer led HIV interventions including contact tracing and wrap around care.
