Both programs are funded until 30 June 2023 and involve the delivery of health promotion, capacity building activities, and health services aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of First Nations women.  Dead or Deadly Program The Dead or Deadly program provides a holistic approach to tackling chronic disease and targets First Nations women in Southern NSW with chronic disease or who are at high risk of developing chronic disease. The four main components of the program are physical activity and exercise, nutrition, smoking cessation and chronic disease prevention and management.  Young Women’s Program The Young Women’s program aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young First Nations women by supporting access to health information and services, community activities and leadership opportunities. The program runs both in-school and after-school sessions for young First Nations women aged 12 to 24 in the Shoalhaven area, including those from socio-economically disadvantaged families, at risk of early school withdrawal, and involved with, or at risk of becoming involved with, the justice system.  The program offers a range of services to First Nations women including educational and social activities, facilitating access and information on culturally safe health services, health checks and screening, health information and education on reducing smoking, physical activity, nutrition, sexual health, birth control, healthy relationships, domestic and family violence and mental health.
