Overview

Under the Preventive Health and Chronic Disease Support Program, the Youth Cancer Services (YCS) grant opportunity will contribute to achieving the intended outcomes articulated in the Australian Cancer Plan (ACP) which aims to improve outcomes and experiences of care for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) living with and after cancer. The objectives of the YCS grant opportunity are to: deliver specialist multidisciplinary treatment and support to AYAs with cancer, through the state-wide YCS hubs; improve the awareness and availability of support services to AYAs with cancer; identify and implement national projects, youth engagement and professional development opportunities to ensure continuous quality improvement of services; and implement the AYA Vision 2033 and support the implementation of the ACP. The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity are to: ensure the majority of AYAs nationally with cancer are treated and/or supported by the YCS Program; improve continuity, consistency, and quality of care for AYAs with cancer; and provide high quality and equitable clinical care that bridges the gaps between adult and paediatric services and is tailored to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
