Overview

The purpose of the grant opportunity is to continue expanding consumer leadership and co-design expertise by increasing the representation of diverse lived experiences of breast cancer in policy and research. By expanding BCNA’s consumer engagement program, more knowledgeable and confident consumers will contribute to co-designed improvements in cancer treatment and support.  The Seat At The Table (SATT) Program is BCNA’s nationally and internationally recognised consumer engagement model that trains people with a lived experience of breast cancer to become BCNA Consumer Representatives (CRs). CRs draw on their diverse lived experiences, personal perspectives, and professional skills to work with clinicians, researchers, health service providers and policymakers across Australia to ensure lived experience remains at the centre of decision-making. In addition to SATT-trained CRs, BCNA provides a range of pathways for consumer participation in policy, research, and service development to not only enhance BCNA’s strategic and operational activities but also ensure policy, research and practice reflects emerging needs and preferences of people impacted by breast cancer.  To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
