Overview

The Embrace Kids Australia Program (the Program) will run over two years from 2025-26 to 2026-27. The Program was announced as part of the Labor Government’s election commitment in 2025.  The 2025 election commitment is dedicated to improving body image and preventing the prevalence of eating disorders in children and young people across Australia. The Program will seek to address the gaps within the National Eating Disorders Collaboration’s Stepped System of Care, in early prevention. The Program will contribute to the achievement of the Department of Health, Ageing and Disability’s Portfolio Budget Statement Outcome 1 – Health Access and Support Services: Better equip Australia to meet current and future health needs of all Australians through the delivery of evidence-based health policies; improved access to comprehensive and coordinated health care; ensuring sustainable funding for health services, research and technologies; and protecting the health and safety of the Australian community. The purpose of this grant opportunity is to implement a series of coordinated initiatives through the Embrace Kids Australia brand. These initiatives are aimed at improving the body image of children and young people across Australia and to assist in preventing the onset of eating disorders and other mental health concerns.  Note: Please refer to the most recent version of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines and Addendum (Version 1) published on 3 November 2025.
