Overview

This grant opportunity will provide funding for headspace National to ensure headspace services are nationally consistent and locally responsive, providing safe and quality services to young people and their families. This will be achieved by: 1. Providing stewardship of the national network of headspace services through governance, oversight and strategic direction aligning with the Commonwealth strategic priorities for the headspace program. This includes supporting the headspace network to meet the requirements of the headspace model and frameworks. 2. Delivering expert advice and enabling functions to the headspace network to boost its capacity, including through monitoring and data reporting, education and training, workforce, clinical and operational supports. 3. Strengthening connections between the headspace network and other services and supports across the mental health system for young people to reduce gaps in care and system fragmentation. 4. Building mental health literacy, reducing stigma and increasing help seeking through communications and community awareness.  The Australian Government has announced $64.47 million over three years for this grant opportunity, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029.
