Overview

Continue the operation and delivery of the Pregnancy, Birth and Baby (PBB) service and establish an information, advice and navigation service, leveraging the Commonwealth’s investment in technology for the 1800MEDICARE service delivered through Healthdirect Australia (Healthdirect). The PBB helpline and website is a national Australian Government service providing support and information for expecting parents and parents of children, from birth to 5 years of age administered by Healthdirect. The established service will deliver: • a redesigned Pregnancy, Birth and Baby (PBB) service providing dedicated midwifery-led support for parents and families from preconception to one-year postpartum via helpline, video call, website content and a mobile application. • advice and service-finding support to families, carers and others in the community who interact with children aged 1-8 with queries about early development and behavioural concerns.
