Overview

This grant opportunity was announced as part of the 2025 election commitment, Strengthening Medicare: Backing Men’s Health package which provides an additional $32 million over four years to support men’s health and break the stigma around seeking support. $3 million has been allocated for the delivery of the Plus Paternal Initiative (PPI) by Healthy Male over four years (excluding Community Grants Hub costs).    The purpose of this grant opportunity is to support delivery of the PPI by Healthy Male. The PPI will provide support to fathers from pre-conception through to early parenthood.  Fatherhood can be a time of immense growth and joy for many men, but it can also be a time of significant stress and challenge. One in five fathers report feeling totally isolated in the first year of fatherhood and men are often unprepared for the significant transition into fatherhood. In many cases, men’s knowledge about preconception, fertility, pregnancy, birth and early fatherhood is limited. When fathers are healthy, supported and enabled, positive paternal behaviours and family involvement increases. This has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of men socially, emotionally, academically and financially, as well as their children and families.  To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red "Grant Opportunity Documents" button on the left-hand side.
