Strengthening Community Safety – Election Commitment Funding
Department of Home Affairs
Overview
The Strengthening Community Safety – Election Commitment Funding grant program will be delivered over a three-year period from 2025–26 to 2027–28, supporting initiatives announced as part of the 2025 federal election. Funded projects will aim to enhance safety across targeted Local Government Areas, with a focus on measures such as the installation of CCTV cameras, which can deter criminal activity, aid investigations and foster a stronger sense of public security. The program seeks to achieve the following outcomes: Promote safer, more inclusive public spaces through responsible and positive use. Strengthen community resilience and wellbeing by addressing crime, anti-social behaviour, and broader security risks. Reduce potential for fear of crime and aim to encourage greater community confidence and engagement.
