Overview
The purpose of the grant is to fund upgrades to the Waverley Wool Mill (Waverley Mills) in Launceston, Tasmania. The upgrades will transition the Waverley Mills, Australia’s oldest working textile mill, into a state-of-the-art sustainable wool recycling facility. When completed, the grant will support new regional training opportunities through collaboration with industry and tertiary institutions, and create new employment opportunities for the region in manufacturing. The grant forms part of the Australian Government’s Supporting Australian Industry package, which provides $135.5 million over four years to boost local industry.
