Domestic Airports Security Costs Support
Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts
Overview
The Domestic Airports Security Costs Support (DASCS) program is part of the Australian Government’s continued economic response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, providing financial assistance to Australia’s eligible domestic airports so as to assist with the impact on the aviation sector of COVID-19. The objective of the DASCS program is to assist eligible domestic airports receiving Regular Public Transport (RPT) services to maintain regulated security screening obligations that must be met regardless of the reduced volume of aviation activity during the COVID-19 crisis. By directly funding these costs, the DASCS program will provide relief for airports, a range of RPT airlines, including those servicing regional and remote Australia, and mitigate ticket price pressure at a time when consumer demand is fragile.
