Journalist Fund - First Nations Cadetships Round

Overview

The Australian Government has committed $5 million (GST exclusive) in grants to support the provision of public interest journalism in regional Australia. This includes approximately $0.5 million in grants to support First Nations cadetships.  The objective of the Journalist Fund, First Nations Cadetships Round is to support regional First Nations media organisations in hiring new First Nations cadet journalists.  The Government will contribute 70 per cent of each two-year cadetship package, up to $105,000, and successful grant recipients will be required to contribute the remaining 30 per cent.
