AFTRS - Accommodation for First Nations students
Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts
Overview
The purpose of the Grant is to provide funding to the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to support an initiative that provides First Nations and financially disadvantaged students of the school with affordable, fit-for-purpose student accommodation. The objective of the grant is to support the achievement of Outcome 6 as outlined in the 2024-25 Portfolio Budget Statement for the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts: "Participation in, and access to, Australia’s arts and culture through developing and supporting cultural expression". The Project is consistent with this outcome in that it supports improved access of First Nations and financially disadvantaged people to industry-ready training and career opportunities.
