Overview

The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the program from 2023–24 to 2026–27.   Family Domestic and Sexual Violence Programs in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Organisations is a program funding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Organisations to meet existing demand for family, domestic and sexual violence services. This program is a measure in the Commonwealth Implementation Plan under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (Closing the Gap) to achieve Target 13: By 2031, the rate of all forms of family violence and abuse against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children is reduced at least by 50%, as progress towards zero. Activities under this program will be designed, led, delivered and evaluated by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share decision-making authority with governments and contribute to building the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector.
