Overview

The Australian Government is inviting an organisation via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership – Strengthening Families and Communities - Safe on Country Fund in the Outcome 2 – Families and Communities area from 2025–26 to 2027–28. The SFC – Safe on Country Fund grant opportunity falls under the remit of the Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership, under the broader A Better, Safer Future for Central Australia Plan initiative. This grant is intended to strengthen family and community safety across Central Australia in the Northern Territory. This grant opportunity is a regional flexible funding model that provides accessible funding, through a brokered organisation, to community organisations, Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and service providers to support community-led programs and projects that prevent or respond to family and community safety issues; this can include required surge funding so that existing services can respond to increased need for a limited time. Funding will be held by an appropriate local broker organisation to allow streamlined access to smaller funding grants to successful applicants and reduce the administrative requirements for smaller organisations. Approved projects would then enter into a funding agreement with the broker organisation. Under this grant opportunity, the local broker organisation will promote the fund and grant opportunities within eligible communities. The brokerage organisation will have strong visibility of community needs and organisations providing services in the region.
