Streamlining External Dispute Resolution for Scams Program

Overview

The Program will provide the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) with grant funding to expand its jurisdiction and establish capacity to handle scam disputes in relation to the first three sectors to be designated under the Scams Prevention Framework (banks, telecommunication service providers and certain digital platforms. The program will require AFCA to operationalise a single EDR scheme for scams in relation to the first three sectors that will be subject to the Scams Prevention Framework.
