Overview

The objective of opportunity is to provide grants of financial assistance to support Australian medical research and medical innovation projects. Stream 1: conduct a randomised trial to compare different regimens for a therapeutic immunoglobulin in immunoglobulin responders following haematological malignancy. Stream 2: conduct a randomised trial to compare different regimens for a therapeutic immunoglobulin in immunoglobulin responders whose acquired hypogammaglobulinaemia is not due to haematological malignancy. Stream 3: conduct a randomised trial to compare different regimens for a therapeutic immunoglobulin (e.g. varied dosage, duration, route of administration) against each other and/or other therapeutic options (e.g. alternative or concurrent therapies) for myasthenia gravis or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, to inform their most cost-effective use. Stream 4: build the evidence base to inform the cost-effective clinical use of immunoglobulin in Australia. This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health. Further information on the Medical Research Future Fund is available from the Department of Health website.
