Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain GP Clinic – targeted funding round: Adelaide PHN only
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
This targeted grant opportunity is in line with GO6054 (2022 round to all PHNs), providing an additional $0.783 million over three years in grant funding to support the establishment of an additional Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain GP Clinic (GP clinic) in a primary care setting in the Adelaide PHN. This funding opportunity is targeted due to population density and service delivery needs in the Adelaide Metropolitan Area, and to ensure that the pain treatment, focus on GP clinics that currently deliver services focused on women’s health, and which are aimed at improving provision of diagnosis, treatment and management of endometriosis and pelvic pain. It is expected that the GP clinic will enable more appropriate and timelier endometriosis care and management, leading to improved diagnosis timeframes and appropriate pain management for impacted patients. A GP clinic will be eligible for a grant for innovation, training, equipment, and minor capital works to support practices to achieve the following objectives: improved access for patients to diagnostic, treatment and referral services for endometriosis and pelvic pain, including: 1. directly benefiting patients from rural and regional areas; 2. providing enhanced support to priority populations; and increased access to support services, either through a nurse navigator or referral pathway; provision of access to new information, support resources, care pathways and networks; and provision of an appropriately trained workforce with expertise in endometriosis and pelvic pain. As per GO6054, the department is commissioning PHNs to administer and manage the Program on behalf of the department including entering into agreements with successful GP clinics. All funds for the Program will be paid to the PHN. To view the grant opportunity documents, please select the red Grant Opportunity Documents button on the left-hand side.
