Overview
The purpose of this grant is to support the continuation of the John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP) for an additional 18 months to 31 December 2021. The JFPP is designed to enable medical students to form long-term relationships with rural communities and gain a better understanding of rural medical practice and non-metropolitan health services. Each year, 300 medical students are selected to join the program and normally undertake a placement in the same regional, rural or remote community for a minimum of two weeks per year over a four-year period. Up to 1200 placements are supported annually.
