Overview

Following the 2022 Federal election, the Australian Government announced as part of the 2022-23 October Budget, that funding of $2.95 million will be provided to support Anam Cara House, under the above program. Through the Supporting Anam Cara House grant opportunity, the Government is investing $2.95 million, over three years, from 2022-23 to 2024-25, to improve palliative and end of life care and choice for people with a life-limiting illness living in the Geelong region, and their family and carers. This grant opportunity will support the newly established Anam Cara House facility in Geelong to deliver person-centred, quality palliative and end of life care. The main objectives of the grant opportunity are to: establish a secure power supply in Anam Cara House; formalise the volunteer program to attract and retain volunteers; purchase a specialised bus for end-of-life day trips; and establish a research and training partnership with Deakin University’s School of Medicine and Faculty of Health which will support on-site teaching within the care sector at Anam Cara House. This is a closed, non-competitive grant opportunity.
