The Raise Foundation Student Mentoring Program
Department of Health and Aged Care
Overview
The Raise Foundation Student Mentoring Program (the program) aims to deliver the Raise Foundation best-practice early intervention and prevention mentoring program to Year 8 students at public secondary schools across Australia. The program is aimed at students who are most at risk of disengagement and poor mental health and wellbeing. The program will prioritise schools in regional and low socio-economic areas. Adult volunteers will be recruited and trained as mentors to connect in a mentoring relationship with student participants and will be provided with regular supervision by appropriately qualified counsellors. The student participants in the program will gain confidence, improve their communication skills, improve their academic performance, improve their employability skill and feel more hopeful about their future
