Overview

The National Paediatric Telecare Service (NPTS) aims to reduce developmental delays in children in rural and remote regions of Australia, as categorised under the Modified Monash Model (MM). These services are crucial for children in these areas, who are more likely to start school developmentally vulnerable compared to those in metropolitan areas. The NPTS delivers comprehensive allied health services via telehealth to children through schools and early learning centres. The program currently supports weekly therapy sessions by speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists for developmentally delayed children across 130 schools in these areas (MM 4-7). The purpose of this grant opportunity is to expand access to these allied and mental health telecare services for children under 12 years old in rural and remote areas of Australia, who face barriers accessing local and affordable services.
