Support for the Regional Australia Institute

Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to deliver on the Australian Government’s 2022 election commitment to invest in the growth of the Regional Australia Institute (RAI). The objectives of the grant opportunity are to: bolster RAI’s research and policy capacity in key regional priorities develop or extend local impact initiatives to share research outcomes, and make evidence and policy on regional issues more accessible build new education programs to extend knowledge and best practice across regional Australia. The intended outcomes of the grant are: Research, empirical evidence and policy advice is well-informed and targeted to existing and emerging regional policy priorities, including the Intergovernmental Shared Inquiry Program (ISIP). Government policy makers better understand the impact of government policy and investment decisions on regional communities. Regional development practitioners are able to use well-informed evidence and data for decision making and policy development in regional Australia. Regional communities have greater access to, and understanding of, evidence and research to help them plan for their region’s future.
