Overview

The Government has identified three grant opportunities under the Disability Advocacy Support Program:  Service Delivery  National Advocacy Helpline (this Grant Opportunity) Sector Strengthening.  The National Advocacy Helpline grant opportunity funds the Disability Advocacy Support Helpline (Helpline), a national information and communication technology (ICT)-enabled service that provides short-term individual advocacy support to people with disability, their families, carers and kin. The Helpline also serves as a common entry point for accessing advocacy services through the Disability Gateway. The grantee must demonstrate the experience and capabilities needed to achieve program outcomes (Appendix A of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines). Non negotiable capabilities form eligibility criteria in the Guidelines, while desirable capabilities (Appendix B) may be developed over time. This grant opportunity contributes to the achievement of Outcome 4.1 – Disability and Carers, which supports people with disability and carers to actively participate in community and economic life.
